The Buddhist priests of Mount Koya have turned their temple lodgings into a way to make money and have become too focused on profit. It even appears that some of them have been involved in tax evasion. It would not be an exaggeration to say that they have fallen into the role of "money-minded monks" who have lost sight of the true spirit of Buddhism.

高野山の僧侶たちは、宿坊を金儲けの手段として利用するようになり、利益を追求することに重点を置きすぎています。中には、脱税に関わった者もいるようです。彼らが仏教本来の精神を忘れた「生臭坊主」に成り下がったと言っても、決して言い過ぎではないでしょう。
